Accreditation and Coordination Committee

Commission's Mission: The primary objective of this commission is to oversee and guide the activities of various commissions, ensuring they align with the requirements and criteria provided by MUDEK (association for evaluation and accreditation of engineering programs). Furthermore, the commission is responsible for coordinating the development of the self-evaluation report, identifying necessary enhancements based on input from other commissions, interested parties, and national and international demands. These findings are then presented to the department chairfurther action.

Internship Committee

Commission's Mission: The internship committee is responsible for evaluating the mandatory two-semester internship program in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, under the guidelines outlined in the General Internship Principles of the Faculty of Engineering. The committee evaluates the suitability of internship places and makes recommendations to the Academic Board of the Department regarding student internships.

Adjustment Committee

Commission's Mission: The Commission is responsible for examining the course exemption requests of students who come to Baskent University’s Biomedical Engineering Department with horizontal and vertical transfers, and students who have studied at another university and re-entered our department with the central placement exam. The commission reports the decisions directly to the head of the department. In addition, the Commission determines whether candidates graduated from other departments and accepted to biomedical engineering graduate programs need scientific preparation and, if necessary, the courses they should take.

Education Committee

The Commission's Mission: The purpose of this commission is to determine and update the educational objectives and program outputs of the department, and to make recommendations to the department board by organizing all educational programs (curriculum) in line with MUDEK according to the following actions and principles.

• The Commission meets at least twice each semester to review data and course evaluations collected from internal and external parties. These assessments are evaluated according to the vision, mission, program outputs and educational objectives of the department.
• The commission proposes changes in the curriculum and prepares the necessary adaptation guidelines for these changes and presents them to the Academic Board of the Department.
• The commission evaluates the extent to which the courses contribute to the realization of the program outputs and makes recommendations to the lecturers on the use of training techniques that increase the quality of education.
• Recommendations for the implementation of teaching methods such as active teaching, informal teamwork and project-oriented teaching are developed by the commission.

Survey and Statistics Committee

The Commission's Mission: The Commission is responsible for organizing various surveys for the internal and external parties of the Biomedical Engineering Department, evaluates the results and presents them to the relevant commissions and the commission for accreditation and coordination.
