The 2024 finals of the Teknofest Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare Competition, titled "Analysis of Mammography Images with Computer Vision and Named Entity Recognition from Mammography Radiology Reports and BI-RADS Category Prediction," were held at the Antalya ANFAŞ area from September 5-8, 2024. Başkent University was represented by a team led by Prof. Dr. Zafer Akçalı, Head of the Department of Medical Informatics at the Faculty of Medicine. The team advisor was Dr. Murat Koçak, a lecturer in the Department of Medical Informatics at the Faculty of Medicine; Dr. Fatih Güven, a research assistant in the Department of Radiology at the Faculty of Medicine, was the team leader; and the team members were Zübeyr Said Özeren, a fourth-year student in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering; and Dr. Nuri Alper Akbay, a fourth-year student in the Faculty of Medicine, was an intern. Başkent University's Artificial Intelligence Team advanced to the second round of eliminations and placed first among 38 teams competing in the finals. The awards ceremony will take place at Adana Şakirpaşa Airport from October 2nd to 6th.
